Direct Rail Services held a Charity Open Day at their Kingmoor Depot near Carlisle on Saturday 22nd July 2017.
There was a total of twenty-four locomotives on display which included seven of the new bi-mode Class 88s and six Class 68s. There was seven Class 68 in attendance when 68004 'Rapid' arrived with our tour empty stock from Carlisle Station for servicing. I had travelled from Bristol Temple Meads on this tour "The Lakeland Explorer" which was operated by Pathfinder Tours.
Apologies for the fact that a lot of the photographs look grainy, but for about eighty percent of the time I was there the rain poured down. Cumbrian summer weather. (31 Photos).
