A collection of photographs I took when I travelled on "The Cumbrian Mountain Express" operated by "The Railway Touring Company" from London Euston to Carlisle, then returning via the Carlisle to Settle Line. The train was firstly hauled outward by Electric Locomotive Class 86 Bo-Bo 86259 'Les Ross' to Carnforth where Steam locomotive "Royal Scot" Class 4-6-0 46115 'SCOTS GUARDSMAN' was waiting to take over to haul the train further north to Carlisle. Then the first part of the return leg south was on the Carlisle to Settle Line before 86259 took over again just south of Preston for a speedy run back to London Euston. Wednesday 16th.October 2013. (29 Photos).
