When the West Somerset Railway held their "Spring Steam Gala" in March 2016 four of the days were of a commemoration theme to the Somerset & Dorset Railway which had finally closed fifty years ago in 1966. Guest locomotives included Rebuilt Bulleid Light Pacific Battle of Britain Class 4-6-2 34053 'SIR KEITH PARK' which ran in the identity of long-scrapped class mate 34098 'TEMPLECOMBE'. Also British Railways Standard Class 4MT 2-6-4T 80072 ran in the identity of class mate 80043. London Midland & Scottish Class 4F 0-6-0 44422 also ran. This locomotive has recently taken up residence on the railway. Photographs in this collection were taken when I visited on Thursday 10th and Saturday 12th March 2016. (51 Photos).
