Great Western Railway held an "Open Day" at its much redeveloping Old Oak Common site on Saturday 2nd September 2017. The event was to also celebrate 111 years of the depot and its part in maintaining the "Legends of the Great Western", of which many examples were in attendance. During the day I joined a guided walk of the in-construction main Crossrail "Elizabeth Line" Operations, Maintenance and Control building. This included a visit and walk round the roof, which gave excellent views of the day's activities and the surrounding changing area. (40 Photos).
